EventFerry compared with the alternatives
The right choice depends on how often your calendar changes and how much you want to maintain. Here is a fair side-by-side.
| EventFerry | Desktop sync tools | DIY automation | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | 14-day free trial, then $5 a month or $50 a year | Free to paid, varies | Tool subscription plus your time |
| Freshness | Every 15 minutes, plus Sync now | Fast, while your computer is on | Depends on how you build it |
| Install needed | None, browser only | Yes, often with admin rights | Account setup and testing |
| Works on locked-down work laptops | Yes | Often blocked | Usually |
| Needs your Microsoft password | No, private link only | Often yes | Often yes |
| Keeps synced events apart from personal ones | Yes, dedicated calendar | Varies | Varies |
| Tells you when it breaks | Yes, with a one-click fix | Varies | Only if you build alerts |
| Ongoing maintenance | None | Updates and reinstalls | Yours |
Why not just subscribe by URL?
Google Calendar has a "From URL" option, and it is where we started. We added our Outlook calendar link and the events never showed up in Google Calendar, which is why we built EventFerry. Our sync guide covers the other options.
Who EventFerry is for
- Your meetings move often, and a stale entry causes double-booking.
- You cannot install software on your work computer.
- You want a calendar that tells you when it stops working, instead of one you have to second-guess.
- You would rather pay a small monthly fee than maintain an automation.
